Canon PowerShot G1 X III is a modern compact camera that inherits many features typically found on DSLR-type cameras like the image processor Digic 7 and the 24 MP sensor. The combination of a large sensor and small dimensions is attractive to many consumers. For example, people that travel extensively and don’t want to carry a large DSLR camera around value this camera. Performance

The camera shoots 9 frames per second continuously in locked AF/AE mode, and 7 fps in servo AF mode. It records video in the standard 1080/60p HD format at 60 fps. A drawback compared with more advanced DSLR cameras is that the recordings can’t be customised. The Dual Sensing image stabilisation is top-notch and makes videos and footage shake free.

Battery

The battery lasts 200 photos per charge assuming that half of the photos use the flash. This doesn’t look like an improvement at first glance, but one should keep in mind that the processor and sensor are more powerful and thereby battery consuming. Furthermore, the design is sleaker, which yields less physical room for the battery.
