The budget version of Mate 20 offers a large screen, high-resolution cameras and speed at a reasonable price. The often accurate analyst Evan Blast has published photos of Huawei Mate 20 Lite. These photos show that there are no surprise features on the outside of the phone except for the notch at the top.
The Lite series is a stripped down version of the upcoming flagship model Huawei Mate 20. The new Huawei Mate 20 Lite sports dual rear cameras with a resolution of 20 MP and a secondary 2 MP lens. The dual front cameras possess a slightly higher resolution at 24 + 2 MP.
The new in-house octa-core Kirin 710 processor has access to 6 GB of RAM memory and 64 GB of storage. The battery capacity of 3,650 mAh is quite standard for a phone with a 6.3-inch LCD screen. The screen resolution is 2,340 x 1,080 px.
Mate 20 Lite is very slim with a thickness of 7.6 mm. For example, it’s 0.2 mm thinner than Huawei P20 Pro.
Pricing & availability
Huawei Mate 20 Lite will cost €399 according to Evan Blass. However, the local price in New Zealand hasn’t been announced yet, but will likely be around NZ$689 based on currency conversion rates. Furthermore, the predecessor Mate 10 Lite launched at an almost identical price of NZ699, even though Huawei later dropped the price in order to boost sales.
Huawei is expected to reveal more details at the IFA fair at the end of August.
