It almost feels like 2011 and 2012 again. The web is abundant with rumors about the upcoming iPhone phones from Apple. In 2016, we’re looking forward to the new iPhone 7 models, especially the iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone 7 Plus specs
The Chinese site MyDrivers has fed the rumor mill recently. This site is well-positioned to obtain iPhone related news since the iPhones are assembled in Shenzhen in China by the Taiwanese company Foxconn.
MyDrivers claims that the successor to the 5.5 inch
iPhone 6 Plus will ship with a more powerful battery capacity of
3,100 mAh. This represents a modest increase by about 6.3%, which is helpful but not very significant.
The two most significant upgrades are the increased storage and RAM memory. MyDrivers reports that the storage will increase to
256GB from the current 64GB. The new phone will have access to an impressive
3GB RAM memory compared to 1GB for the current model.
New design and features
The influential research firm TrendForce has earlier speculated that the design for the
iPhone 7 Plus will be thinner and waterproof. Competitors like Sony and Samsung offer waterproof phones and the fact that the iPhone 6 series contain many waterproof components make this a plausible feature. We have earlier reported that the
upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 will re-introduce waterproofing.
Release date
