Technical details of the latest Note phone from Samsung have been leaked. Here’s a run down of what has surfaced so far and what we can expect from Samsung Galaxy Note 6 when it’s released this winter. The 5.8-inch screen has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 px and a screen density of 480 dpi. The processor is either Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 823. Which processor that powers Note 6 depends on the market the phone is sold in. Samsung Galaxy Note relies on two processors in order to be able to ensure a smooth production and delivery process at high demand levels. The design will apparently resemble that of Samsung Galaxy S7. Samsung still seems to be testing whether to employ rounded edges like the Galaxy Edge-models or a more traditional screen. Note 6 will be slightly thicker than Note 5 due to a higher capacity battery with 3,700 Amh and IP68 rating. A 12 MP rear camera is expected and various sources report about a sophisticated 5-axis image stabilization system. Note 6 might ship with the latest Android N operating system that’s currently in developer preview mode. The model number that Kiwis will encounter is likely to be SM-N930F, which is the model designated for the European and Australian markets.

Pricing and availability

The current model Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a selling price of $875 inclusive of shipping. However, Note 6 is packed with upgraded specs and will, therefore, retail at a higher price. A release is expected this winter possibly in July or August. Samsung is probably waiting for Android N to roll-out before committing to a release date.
